Frog program set at Giant City
The frogs of Southernmost Illinois will be the topic of a program which is planned Saturday, Feb. 9, at Giant City State Park near Makanda.
The program is set for 1 p.m. in the visitors center at the park.
Biologist John Palis is scheduled to present the program.
He will talk about how to identify local frogs by sight and by sound.
Palis also will share findings about ongoing frog surveying and monitoring projects that he is conducting in Southern Illinois.
After the talk, weather permitting, those who attend the program will visit a pond or two in the park to look for frogs.
