Four Cobden pitchers combine for no-hitter
Four Cobden High School pitchers combined to pitch a no-hitter to lead the host Appleknockers to a 15-1 win over Meridian Monday, April 8.
Zane Nance, Chandler West, Ryan Barr and Noah Franklin pitched in the win.
Nance pitched an inning and had no walks and 3 strikeouts. West pitched an inning and had no walks and 3 strikeouts.
Barr pitched an inning and had no walks and 3 strikeouts. Franklin pitched an inning and allowed 2 walks and had 2 strikeouts.
Braden Clark led the hitting by going 2-for-2 with 2 RBIs. West and Bayden Ditterline were each 2-for-2 with an RBI apiece. Franklin was 1-for-1 with 2 RBIs.
Josh Burgess was 1-for-1 with an RBI. Cody Wieseman was 1-for-2 with 2 RBIs. Barr and Alex Remsey were each 1-for-3 with an RBI apiece.
Cobden, 6-3, is scheduled to play Friday at Hardin County. The Appleknockers’ game scheduled on Friday, April 12, with Shawnee was rained out. The game was rescheduled for May 6 at Shawnee.
