Disaster Loan Outreach Centers open in Illinois

Four Disaster Loan Outreach Centers, DLOC, were scheduled to open Nov. 21, in Illinois to help homeowners and business owners apply for low-interest, long-term loans to assist with recovery efforts associated with the historic flood of 2019.

Gov. JB Pritzker recently announced the U.S. Small Business Administration, SBA, had approved his request for a disaster declaration in Alexander, Jersey, Rock Island and Stephenson counties, as well as the contiguous counties of Jo Daviess, Winnebago, Carroll, Ogle, Whiteside, Henry, Mercer, Calhoun, Greene, Macoupin, Madison, Union and Pulaski. 

Home and business owners in those counties are now eligible to apply for recovery loans.

Disaster Loan Outreach Centers were to be set up throughout the state to provide additional information and loan assistance.

One of the centers was scheduled to be set up in Alexander County – at Pit Stop Pizza, 592 State Highway 146, in McClure.

The following hours of operation were announced:

Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, Nov. 25-27, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Thursday, Nov. 28, closed, holiday. Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 29-30, Dec. 1, closed.

Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, Dec. 2-4, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 5, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

SBA loans can help repair or replace damaged or destroyed real estate.  

Homeowners and renters can apply for loans to repair or replace damaged or destroyed personal property.  

Businesses and private non-profit organizations can apply for loans to repair or replace damaged or destroyed real estate, machinery and equipment, inventory and other business assets.

The filing deadline to return applications for physical property damage is Jan. 13, 2020.  

The deadline to return economic injury applications is Aug. 14, 2020.  

Any individual or business needing additional information, or wanting to apply for a loan, is advised to contact the SBA Customer Service Center at 800-659-2955. 

Applicants can apply online using the Electronic Loan Application, ELA, on SBA’s secure website at DisasterLoan.sba.gov. 

Loan applications can also be downloaded from www.sba.gov/disaster. 

Completed applications are to be mailed to: U.S. Small Business Administration, Processing and Disbursement Center, 14925 Kingsport Road, Fort Worth, Texas 76155.
