Coffman's Martial Arts opens new location

A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held in celebration of the grand opening of the new location of Coffman’s Martial Arts Academy in Anna on Saturday, Nov. 9. 

The ribbon cutting was sponsored by the Union County Chamber of Commerce.

The academy’s new location is at 3305 E. Vienna in Anna. 

Master Heather Coffman was joined by friends and students to celebrate the occasion, as well as by members of the ChunJiDo Academy of Evansville, Ind. 

The ceremony was followed by an open house. Master Nathan Meredith of the ChunJiDo Academy and his students led self-defense seminars and presented weapon demonstrations and other exhibitions of skill. 

Coffman’s Martial Arts Academy now offers an expanded selection of classes in tae kwon-do and self-defense, as well as fitness courses. 

The academy’s 10-week “Tiny Ninjas” class is available for ages 3 to 6 and meets at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesdays. 

The academy also has added to its fitness programs, with classes that focus on endurance, flexibility and strength, as well as self-defense. These classes can be modified to fit any stage of fitness. 

Women’s fitness classes meet on Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m. and Thursdays at 7:30 p.m. Co-ed classes meet on Monday at 6:30 p.m., Wednesdays at 6 p.m. and Saturdays at 9 a.m.

Master Coffman will also be starting private classes for individuals and families. 

Coffman’s offers first classes for free as well as discounts for families and multiple classes.
