Cobden hosts annual Peach Festival
A new queen of the Cobden Peach Festival was crowned last weekend.
Addison Osman is the new festival queen.
The festival was Friday and Saturday, Aug. 2-3, in Cobden.
Meredith Flamm was first runner-up in the pageant. Lauren Lyerla was second runner-up. Lexi Miller was named Miss Congeniality.
Addison Osman, 17, of Anna, is the daughter of Eric and Janice Osman. Her sponsor in the pageant was Tooth Tech.
Meredith Flamm, 19, of Cobden, is the daughter of Mike and Lynn Flamm. Her sponsor was Flamm Orchards.
Lauren Lyerla, 16, of Alto Pass, is the daughter of Matt and Terra Lyerla. Her sponsor was Kenz Boutique.
Lexi Miller, 18, of Cobden, is the daughter of David and Elizabeth Miller.Her sponsor was Bass Farms.
The community celebration once again was sponsored by the Cobden Lions Club. Members of the club, along with other volunteers, worked many hours to ensure the festival's succees.
Last weekend's Peach Festival featured a wide range of events. Big crowds were on for both days of the community celebration.
Activities included the queen pageant, the popular Spin & Win game (with winners taking home peaches), music, bingo, a 5K run/walk and fun run, raffles, food, refreshments and homemade peach cobbler.
During the weekend, the Union County Museum in Cobden presented an exhibit which recalled the history of floods in the area.
