Coach Ron book signing scheduled

A book signing is planned in the Lick Creek School gymnasium from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5.

Coach Ron will have his third book available to the public, with the proceeds from the sale of his book going to the Lick Creek School Beta Club.

The title of the book is “A Good Foundation and a Fulfilled Life.”

In the book, Coach Ron talks about growing up in the 1940s, 1950s and 1960s in Southern Illinois and Little Egypt.

“I have been so blessed in my lifetime,” Coach Ron said. 

“There have been so many lessons learned and memories I have of growing up in a culture so different than today’s. My first 18 years were on the family farm.

“America has changed since the 1940s and 1950s of my childhood. The book will take you on a journey through my experiences farming, teaching, coaching, serving in the military and my sales career to see how the wisdom of yesterday can benefit us today.

“As I entered my teaching and coaching profession I realized this is where God wanted me.”
