Christian women plan to have prayer luncheon

The Christian women of Union County plan to meet for a prayer luncheon on Thursday, July 7, in Anna.

The luncheon will be at the Main Street Center, which is located on the corner of South Main and East Jefferson streets in Anna.

The luncheon is planned from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and will be free to the public.

The luncheon foods will be provided by the women of the Baptist, Methodist, Lutheran, Catholic, Christian and Presbyterian churches.

Prayers for the nation will be offered by Lt. Col. Sharon Wittke, Dr. Amber Moreland, Sue Wilkins and Kelli Wood.

Janna Harner, Miss Southern Illinois, will sing “God Bless America.” All women are invited to attend to pray for the nation as the country prepares for the national political conventions this summer and the general election this fall.

The Christian women’s prayer luncheon is sponsored by the Union County Alliance of Churches.
