Chamber of commerce has first meeting of new year
The Union County Chamber of Commerce had its first meeting of the new year at Union County Hospital in Anna on Thursday, Jan. 5.
Incoming president Melanie Lasley gave a report about the previous year.
Incoming vice president Brooke Miller reminded those in attendance about the chamber’s upcoming gala, which is planned Saturday, Jan. 28, at The Blue Boar, between Anna and Cobden, starting at 6 p.m.
She stated that nonmembers are welcome to attend and that businesses can sponsor the event starting at $100.
Bonni Linton, executive coordinator, gave an executive report. She said that the chamber had 163 members at the close of 2016.
Debby McKibben announced that an Annabelle Fest planning meeting was set for Wednesday, Jan. 11. Annabelle Fest is scheduled for June.
The 2017 executive committee for the Union County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, pictured above, was introduced at the chamber’s January meeting.
