2019 Veterans Day parade set in Anna
The 2019 Veteran’s Day parade is set for 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 11, in Anna. Monday is Veterans Day.
The parade once again will be hosted by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Carroll P. Foster Post No. 3455 of Anna.
Nearly 70 units are expected to participate in the parade.
The parade route will be along East Davie Street to South Main Street in downtown Anna.
Those who are planning to attend the parade will want to make note of changes in parking along the event’s route.
The City of Anna is planning to block parking along South Main Street, from Davie to Jefferson Street; and along the business side of East Davie Street.
The theme for this year’s parade is “Welcome Home.”
The VFW notes that many of the nation’s “service men and women never received the proper heroes welcome they deserved upon return from their time in combat zones, and this is our opportunity to show them how grateful we are for their sacrifice.”
Complimentary chili and hot dogs will be served to participants at the VFW post immediately following the parade.
Certificates will be presented to winning entries at that time as well.
