Jessi Stone scored 21 points to lead Anna-Jonesboro to a 40-37 win over Marion at the Harrisburg Preview Tournament in high school girls’ basketball action Thursday, Dec. 1.
Kim Mixen added 10 points for the Lady Wildcats. Brooke Chamness and Valerie Pender each chipped in 4 points and Katie Grant 1.
Marion built an early 14-5 first quarter lead. Each team only scored two points in the second quarter giving Marion a 16-7 halftime lead.
A-J came on to outscore Marion 19-11 in the third quarter to pull within one, 27-26, heading into the final period.
The Lady Wildcats outscored Marion 14-10 in the fourth quarter to come from behind and win.
A-J improved to 2-4 overall.
