A-J falls to Nashville
Anna-Jonesboro fell behind early and couldn’t catch up in a 61-47 loss to visiting Nashville in Southern Illinois River-to-River Mississippi Division Conference high school boys’ basketball action Tuesday, Dec. 22.
The Hornets were on top 18-11 at the end of one quarter and 34-24 at the half. Nashville led 43-31 going into the final period.
Brady Wright had 12 points and 5 rebounds to lead the Wildcats.
Cody Livesay added 11 points. J.R. Woodward had 9 points and 5 rebounds. Jordan Adams had 9 points. Gabe Pecord had 4 points and Tylor Duckworth 2.
The Wildcats were 15 of 30 in shot attempts from the field, 2 of 18 from 3-point range and 11 of 12 from the charity stripe.
Kyle Heggemeier had 27 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Hornets, who were 17 of 25 in shot attempts from the floor, 2 of 9 from 3-point range and 21 of 25 from the free throw line.
A-J outrebounded Nashville 16-14.
Nashville improved to 7-2 and 2-1 in the league. A-J evened its record at 5-5 and 0-3 in the conference.
