Gallatin County defeats Cobden at regional

<p class="p1">Cobden couldn’t hold a lead in a 50-47 loss to Gallatin County in the Goreville Class 1A regional high school boys’ basketball tournament Wednesday, Feb. 24.</p><p class="p1">The Appleknockers led 11-6 after one quarter. The Hawks fought back for a 22-22 tie at the halftime. Cobden built a 32-29 lead going into the final quarter. But Gallatin County outscored Cobden 21-15 in the final period.</p><p class="p1">Logan Spalt led the way for Cobden with 17 points. John Russell added 8 points, Austin Lewey 7, Jacob Furlow and Clayton Eck 6 apiece and J.T. Moore 3.</p><p class="p1">Cobden ended its season with a 15-12 overall record.</p>
