Regional tournament action

Cobden hosted an Illinois High School Association Class 1A boys’ regional basketball tournament last week. The host Appleknockers faced Egyptian High School from Tamms Monday night, Feb. 20, in tournament play. Cobden won the game.

Some of teacher Darrel Dexter’s history classes at Egyptian High School in Tamms listened to Marlene Rivero’s at the Civil War Weekend. Along with Rivero, who was dressed in clothing from the time, are students Grace Klingeman, Amanda Bennett, Tristan Parker, Daneesha Carthell, Tyra Huff, Rileigh Petermichel, Jordan Reeves, Kacia Houston, Cheyenne Petzoldt and Trevor Smith.

Regional tournament action

Cobden hosted an Illinois High School Association Class 1A boys’ regional basketball tournament this week. The host Appleknockers faced Egyptian High School from Tamms Monday night in tournament play. Cobden won the game. The regional tournament championship game was set for 7 p.m. this Friday.

Egyptian student council to host fundraiser

The Egyptian High School student council plans to host a chili supper/movie night fundraiser at the school in Tamms on Thursday, Nov. 3. Food will be served at 5:30 p.m. and movies will start at 6:30 p.m. Children are encouraged to wear pajamas.

Egyptian vs. Century play pink-out volleyball game

The Egyptian High School Lady Pharaohs and Century High School Lady Centurions faced each other during the pink-out volleyball game at Egyptian in Tamms on Thursday, Oct. 13. All proceeds from the game went towards breast cancer research.
