Dongola season ends with loss to Meridian
<p class="p1">The Dongola High School boys’ basketball team lost 83-67 to Meridian in the Class 1A regional at Century Thursday, Feb. 25.</p><p class="p1">Alex Zeschke scored 40 points to lead the Demons. Kyle Cox added 17 points, Dillon Gilliland and Dylan Simmerman 3 apiece and Caleb Theis and Dalen Treat 2 each.</p><p class="p1"><strong>Dongola 52, Joppa 43:</strong> Zeschke scored 22 points to lead Dongola to the win in the regional Tuesday, Feb. 23.</p><p class="p1">Cox added 20 points, Gilliland 7, Theis 2 and Treat 1.</p><p class="p1"><strong>Christian Agape 66, Dongola 44:</strong> Cox led the way with 20 points in the loss on the Demons’ Senior Night Friday, Feb. 19.</p><p class="p1">Gilliland added 13 points, Zeschke 6, Treat and Theis 2 apiece and Garrett Micheal 1.</p><p class="p1">The Demons closed out regular season play at 12-12 overall.</p><p class="p2"> </p>
