Cobden falls twice at Shootout

The Cobden High School girls’ basketball team struggled in the Carterville Shootout, losing two of its final games Saturday, Jan. 15.
Johnston City 48, Cobden 39: Kayla Quertermous had 19 points to lead the Appleknockers in the loss.
Jordyn Grey added 9 points, Devyn Inman 5, Maria Piper 4 and Alysha Bottje 2.
Cobden fell behind 15-9 after one quarter and 29-16 at the half.
Zeigler-Royalton-Christopher 44, Cobden 20: Bottje and Ashley Millis had 5 points apiece to lead Cobden. Quertermous and Katie Mowell had 4 points each and Piper 2.
The Lady Tornadoes led 11-7 after one quarter and 27-11 at the half.
